To transcribe audio from meetings, photo shoots, and other non technical venues, no experience beyond transcription experience is needed. There is a high need for legal and medical transcription, however, and these require education specific to the field.

Many sites offer current postings for these positions. Most likely they will list all the details of the job as well as their expected qualifications, time commitment, and the pay. There are a few things to keep in mind as you begin to sift through the job offerings out there. First and foremost, you should never, ever have to pay for a job. Unless you are doing a start-up like Avon or Tupperware and need to buy the initial products to sell, there is absolutely no reason why you should pay someone to consider you for a position. They should be paying you. You are doing them a favor by working for them; not the other way around.
The second tip when looking to earn money from home is to make sure that you have something to offer your client. Are you trained well enough to sufficiently fill this position? Do you have the experience to bring efficiency to their organization? You have choices here, in which kinds of jobs and how many you take on and the time and experience you bring to the position will directly affect both you and your client.
When you work from home, you have the option of taking on work that will take you longer than the recommended time as long as the deadline allows. For example, if you are offered a job translating a page of text and it's due in three days, if you are a whiz at this sort of thing, you may finish in less than an hour. However, if you know the language but want to take your time to complete it and double and triple check yourself, then you could take eight or nine hours over a the entire three days to get it done. It will decrease your earnings per hour, but when you're just starting out, this may be just what you need to build up your resume and your skills.
Which brings us to the third tip, which concerns the pay offered for your potential work at home project. As illustrated above, depending on your rate of completion, your rate per hour on a project will vary. If you are offered a work from home job that requires you to transcribe 4 hours worth of tape and pays $80 per hour of tape for a total of $320 for the job, then this could be great pay or lousy pay depending on your typing speed and equipment. With the right equipment and quick typing speed, you could possibly have a 3:1 ratio, meaning one hour would take you 3 hours to transcribe. At a total of 12 hours, that means that per hour, you would make $26.67 per hour. Not bad! But if you don't have the equipment or your typing speed isn't that fast, your ratio will probably be more like 5:1 or 6:1 putting your time spent at 20-24 hours and your rate of pay at $13-16 an hour. Is this worth your time?
It's up to you! Balance your schedule and take on no more than you can handle. Never pay to work and make sure you're paid what you're worth, and you'll have no problem earning money from home.
Earning money from online surveys is not as easy as it sounds. If you're not careful you can spend a lot of time and not actually make too much money.
When choosing which of the many survey companies to join, keep the following tips in mind to increase your money making and decrease your spam.
* Never pay to join a survey database. You can find survey companies online for free. You want to make money, not spend money. Paying for a subscription to a site that offers information on survey companies only is going to start you on your new career with a deficit. * Avoid surveys that 'pay' you by entering you in contests or sweepstakes with the possibility of cash prizes. The chance of winning these sweepstakes or contests is extremely slim, and it isn't actually payment at all, just a way to get your information for telemarketers and spam. * Consider the sites that offer 'points' or some other system of keeping track of your surveys. If they offer a way to cash in these points for gift cards to different stores or restaurants, then this is, in a sense, cash and may be very worthwhile. It may take awhile to amass enough points to be worth even a $25 gift card to, for example, Wal Mart. Some opt to save up these cash cards and use them for last minute gifts. Others use them to offset expenses. It's up to you whether or not you can do enough surveys in a short enough amount of time to make it worthwhile. * Some survey sites may ask you to fill out a profile so that you can be called upon to participate in surveys in person. Companies pay big money to test new products on potential consumers including food, movies.. even law firms test their arguments before bringing them in front of a jury. The catch here is that you are usually required to go to the company's site. The upside is that you get free meals and as much (if not more) than $200 per day. * It is difficult to find just one survey site that will offer you enough surveys for enough points or cash to really be a full time job. Keep checking for new companies and keep up with forums to find out which companies are scams and which are actually paying up. Join multiple sites if this is your sole source of income to increase the number of checks and cash cards coming in.
There are a variety of survey companies for all interests, so don't settle for those that don't suit you. Remember, however, that many companies that offer points will often compensate you with a few points just for seeing if you could possibly qualify for a survey. These can add up and soon you'll have enough points to cash in for a check or a cash card. Enter multiple survey sites and these will add up to multiple streams of income. Every little bit counts!
If you want to make a little extra money every month, but don't want to go out and take on a second job and aren't ready to jump into a full time online gig, then there are a number of little things you can do. By adding a few extra things to your online activities or even modifying the way you do some online activities already, you can earn extra money.

Like an affiliate program, you may also earn a penny or two for every email read by someone they sign up. Most likely, you will only cash out after reaching a certain dollar or point amount, but get enough recruits, and you'll just have to read your own emails and your affiliates will earn the rest of the money for you. * Earn points through online shopping– Some of these paid email programs are combined with programs that offer points for shopping. It may be that you earn a certain number of points for every dollar spent by going to the company's website through theirs or you may earn a chunk of cash for signing up for a subscription or trying a sample. Either way, soon these points or cash add up and you can cash in for a check or a gift card.
* Take surveys – Join just a few of the more reputable survey websites and you can start receiving links to surveys in your inbox. The best ones will offer points or cash for completing the surveys and not just enter you in sweepstakes or contests to win money. They will also offer a minimal number of points or cash for attempting to qualify for surveys, even if they ultimately don't ask you to complete the whole thing.
* Online auctions – Did you have a garage sale and end up with a bunch of leftover items? Sell them online! Ebay is, of course, the most popular. All you do is take a picture of your item, describe it, and upload the information onto Ebay's site. They charge a small fee for putting it online for you and then a percentage of the total selling price. It's a great way to make extra money whether it's just cleaning out your closet or a venue for you to sell your arts and crafts.
