Why Go Home?

Home businesses seemingly present a unique market in our corporate world. However, nearly every business was a home business at one time. The big ideas that began corporations like McDonalds, MacIntosh, and Microsoft began in the living room, around the dining room table, or possibly even the bedroom in pillow talk among a husband and wife. All businesses were home businesses from the start. Some just never left home. So why even open a home business, then? Why not go down town where customers will pass by and nearly jump through the plate glass window to do business with the busy workers inside? Logically, this makes more sense. Right? Who in their right mind would try to make a profit out of their home? Several reasons exist.

First of all, beginning a business at home, and then keeping it at home, often cuts down on unnecessary start up costs and on going expenses. Home business owners typically own their home. They may pay on a mortgage, but they typically are not running their business from a single bedroom apartment. Instead, they have sufficient space to run their business and raise their family. When they choose to run the business from the home office, they save the start up costs and headache that comes with renting or purchasing an office space. They also have found a way to save on their taxes as they can deduct a percentage of their home space as office space for taxes.

A home business also has more family-friendly potential than the traditional business. When an individual chooses to open a home business, he or she will be around their family because home is where the family hangs out. This means more time spent with kids and a spouse as a whole. We refer to the home business as having family-friendly potential. This wholly depends on the business owner and the family. If the business owner turns into a Hitler-like business man, dictating his family to work for him and forgetting the reason he came home in the first place, which often stems back to his family, he will find that he has a more miserable family when he works from home than when he worked from a traditional office. Making the business family friendly takes determined effort.

Finally, the home business offers the shortest commute to work possible. Usually the walk from the bedroom to the office or from the kitchen to the office takes only a few seconds. Who can claim they have that kind of commute with a traditional job? Furthermore, with the increasing price of gas, the shortened commute saves this particular worker a ton of money.

Sure, he has invested in his home business as well, but he has the money to invest because he's no longer fighting traffic to get to work on time.
The home business can be the ideal situation for the family-loving, commute-hating, expense-shunning entrepreneur. It requires a great idea and a ton of self-discipline, but with these in place, just about anyone can succeed at a home business.

THE KEY TO HOME BUSINESS SUCCESS

Self-motivation is the key to success when you start a home-based business. You need to possess the ability to push yourself ahead. Your drive and determination will be reinforced with every new sale.

The level of success that you will achieve greatly depends on the time and effort you are willing to plow into your new home business. Your organization, planning and marketing skills, will all be put into practice when you embark on your liberating journey from employee, to being your own boss. In fact, you will be the wearer of many hats and gain a wealth of business experience along the way, when you finally make that commitment to work at home.

YOUR SUCCESS RESTS ENTIRELY UPON YOUR OWN SHOULDERS

You will now be the boss. Are you truly able to work independently? Do you have the drive; the tenacity, to persevere with your home based business? Will you be able to invest the necessary time to nurture it, to watch it grow and see it through, from germination to full, glorious bloom? When you`re the boss, you are responsible for the success of your home business, from A to Z, from disappointments to victory.

When you work at home, it will empower you to achieve many things you were unable to do when you were stuck working for that tyrant boss. Remember him? He`s the guy that wouldn`t let you take time off when your baby was sick...the same guy that called you in to work on a public holiday.

A home business means that you can take good care of your family and make money from home, simultaneously. You will have the best of both worlds! Just think--no more dirty laundry piling up--you can do it while you work. No more scurrying around at the last minute searching for a babysitter either. And no more worrying about getting fired; you`ll be the boss!

IN CONCLUSION...

Stay positive and focused on your home based business, even if, when sales aren`t up to par, you get occasional negative remarks or derogatory comments from people with stuffy, dead-end jobs. Ignore their cutting words and bear in mind that success is the best revenge! Keep your admirable, positive attitude at the forefront and show them what you`re made of!
